An overall performance by the PCA Purple squad helped them win the Punjab Senior State T20 Cricket Tournament for Maharaja Ranjit Singh Trophy at the IS Bindra PCA Stadium in Mohali. They defeated PCA Green by four wickets. Ramandeep Singh claimed a fifer, while opener Gurmehar Singh Sra posted a stunning 54 off 29 balls, with eight boundaries and three sixes, to set the tone for the Purple team.

Batting first, the Red team posted 154/9 in the allotted 20 overs. Sahil Sharma (34 off 21 balls, with four boundaries and two sixes) and Prerit Dutta (34 off 29 balls, with two boundaries and one six) contributed a major share to the team’s total. Naman Dhir (22 off 20 balls), Salil Arora (15 off 13 balls) and Shahbaz Singh Sandhu (14 off 13 balls) were the other scorers. Ramandeep conceded 22 runs, and was supported by Sohraab Dhaliwal (2/21) and Simranjeet Singh Gharu (1/35).

In reply, the Purple team was off to a flying start as Sra and Vishwanath Pratap Singh (24 off 16 balls) raised an 84-run stand. Later, Ramandeep (38 off 14 balls, with five boundaries and two sixes) made the win easy for the side. Abhay Choudhary (10) and Dhaliwal (9) also contributed a little to the total. Kartik Chadha claimed 3/46, while Dhir accounted 2/13 and Krish Bhagat took 1/22 for the bowling side.
