PEC alumni go down memory lane
Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh, held its Global Alumni Meet-2025.
The event served as a platform for former students to reconnect, share experiences, and discuss ways to contribute to their alma mater’s growth. The meet was attended by graduates from as early as 1955 to recent batches, including professionals from India and abroad.
Chief guest Gursharan Singh, an industrialist, reflected on his career journey and spoke about India’s growing role in manufacturing semiconductor. He also highlighted upcoming opportunities for PEC graduates in the field.
A key moment of the event was the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between PEC and a leading semiconductor company. The collaboration aims to provide scholarships, specialised training, and industry exposure, with 50 students set to undergo training at a semiconductor lab in Mohali.
Director Rajesh Kumar Bhatia spoke about the importance of adapting PEC’s curriculum to industry needs.
The event, organised by the PEC Old Students’ Association, featured networking sessions, cultural performances, and interactive activities. Alumni were honoured for their contributions, and milestone batches were recognised. The evening concluded with a cultural programme.
