Chandigarh, April 16
After a gap of two years, Punjab Engineering College (PEC), a deemed to be university, is organising the famous PECFest. The three-day annual PECFest’ 2021-22 is a cosmic escapade. It is one of the biggest techno-cultural fests of North India.
On the opening day of the fest, a mini marathon was organised for students. The theme of the marathon was ‘run for a cause’. It was organised to promote healthy lifestyle and well-being. Students gathered in large numbers on the PEC athletics ground.
In his address the PEC Director, Dr Baldev Setia, motivated students and then flagged off the event. The marathon moved towards Vigyan Path and went to Matka Chowk, before going to the CITCO road via Madhya Marg and passed by the Government Museum and Art Gallery.
Throughout the marathon, participants displayed the vigour of the upcoming fest and spread it throughout the City Beautiful. The top runners of the marathon were awarded after which the huge crowd of students dispersed.
In the afternoon, multiple competitions and events were organised. Ranging from Hindi poetry to DIY rockets, stand-up comedy to graffiti competition and famous Mr and Miss PECFest, all students got a chance to empty their brain onto huge canvases of creativity, both artistic and technical.
Talent and glamour was at its peak with the Groovz, a western group dance competition and the Glitterati, a ramp walk presentation of glitz and glamour. Participants gathered to show off their dance moves and ramp walks. The day ended with a blast as students prepared for another cultural extravaganza in the upcoming events. —
