The Department of Psychiatry at PGIMER organised a one-day Continuing Rehabilitation Programme on ‘Neuropsychology: Assessment and Intervention’, bringing together mental health professionals and rehabilitation specialists from across the country. The event aimed to enhance the understanding of neuropsychological assessments and interventions in mental health and rehabilitation.

The programme was inaugurated by organising chairperson Prof D Basu, Head of the Department of Psychiatry, who delivered the welcome address. The chief guest, Prof RK Ratho, Dean of Academics, and guest of honour, Dr Roopesh BN, Additional Professor in the Department of Clinical Psychology at NIMHANS, emphasised the growing role of neuropsychology in modern psychiatry.

The morning session included a discussion on structural and functional aspects of the brain by Prof Shubmohan Singh, followed by a session by Dr Roopesh BN on neurocognitive assessments in children.

In the afternoon, Dr Jyoti Mishra, Assistant Professor, GMCH-32, discussed neuropsychological deficits in psychiatric disorders, while Prof Hardeep Lal Joshi covered the fundamentals of neuropsychological assessments and interventions in adults.
