PGI launches swachhata helpline
Swachhotsav culminated with the Best Swachhta Karmayogi Awards and the launch of a WhatsApp swachhata helpline
The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research concluded Swachhotsav 2025 today, bringing to a close a fortnight of cleanliness and awareness activities in alignment with the nationwide “Swachhata Hi Seva” campaign.
Celebrations culminated with the Best Swachhta Karmayogi Awards and the launch of a WhatsApp swachhata helpline, providing support for sanitation services.
Key initiatives included thorough cleanliness drives in research blocks, hostels, outpatient departments and neighboring areas, alongside targeted awareness campaigns such as IEC installations, PPE kit distribution, and hand hygiene training for Swachhta warriors. Community outreach was expanded through hand hygiene activities in schools and sanitation drives in adjoining residential colonies.
Capacity-building workshops for sanitation staff on infection control and preventive health check-ups during the “Safai Mitra Suraksha Shivir” benefitted over 600 workers.
PGI Director Dr Vivek Lal said, “Swachhata is not just an event but a movement. By adopting clean habits and practices daily, we can ensure a healthier environment for patients, healthcare workers, and the community at large.”
