Chandigarh, August 24
Prof Jitendra Kumar Sahu, a paediatric neurologist at the PGIMER, has been awarded the ‘Rashtriya Vigyan Puraskar: Vigyan Yuva-Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar’ for 2024 in medicine by President Droupadi Murmu.
This is the highest national science award given to a person who is below 45 years in recognition of outstanding contributions to research, technology and innovation in the field of medicine. Dr Jitendra Singh, Minister of State (independent charge) of S&T and ES also graced the occasion.
He primarily works on childhood epilepsy and children with neurological disorders, and has over 175 publications and is the recipient of many awards.
