PGI student wins dual honour at BioImages contest
Brahmleen Kaur, a final-year BSc Medical Animation (Audio/Visual) student at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), has secured two coveted awards at BioImages 2025, a global competition hosted by the BioCommunications Association, US.
Her innovative biomedical visualisations earned her an ‘Image of Merit’ and an ‘Image of Distinction’ awards, placing her work among the top entries from around the world.
BioImages is recognised as a leading platform for excellence in life sciences and medical media, with each submission judged for its scientific intent, creative design, technical execution and overall impact.
Brahmleen credited her success to the expert guidance and mentorship provided by her faculty— Brijlal, Shivali Raj and Abhijeet Singh—stating that their support was instrumental in developing her skills at the intersection of art and science.
“The recognition is not just a personal milestone but a reflection of the exceptional academic and creative environment at the PGI,” said Brahmleen. “I feel proud to represent India at such a prestigious international stage.”
Her award-winning work will feature in the BioImages 2025 Exhibition, a global showcase of the finest achievements in biomedical and scientific media.
