PHDCCI in collaboration with MSMEx organises session on SME IPOs in Chandigarh

The PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), in collaboration with MSMEx, organised an interactive session on SME IPOs at the PHD House, Chandigarh. Mr Amit Kumar, CEO of MSMEx and Growbizfund, delivered the keynote address, highlighting the transformative potential of SME IPOs. He emphasised that IPO listings were no longer confined to large corporations, thanks to the emergence of dedicated SME platforms. "SMEs can unlock significant valuation by planning for IPOs, shifting from tax optimisation to wealth optimisation and creating long-term business value," he stated.

The session began with a welcome address by Suvrat Khanna, Co-Chair, Chandigarh Chapter, PHDCCI. He underscored the importance of raising awareness about various capital funding avenues for small and medium enterprises, noting that “fundraising solves 90 per cent of industry problems.”

CS (Adv.) Rahul Jogi, Convenor, Regional NCLT & Corporate Affairs Committee, PHDCCI, provided the theme address, elaborating on the opportunities and challenges SMEs face on their journey towards IPO listing. CS Shikhar Goel, Regional Council Member, ICSI, presented an insightful overview of the regulatory frameworks governing IPOs. He explained the key compliance requirements under SEBI regulations, including the submission of the Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) which outlines the company’s financials and associated risks. The session was moderated by Bharti Sood, Regional Director, PHDCCI. She reiterated the crucial role of MSMEs in India’s economic development and encouraged them to explore innovative avenues for fundraising to scale their operations.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Advocate Lokesh Jain, Co-Chair, Haryana State Chapter, PHDCCI, who acknowledged the valuable contributions of the speakers and the enthusiastic participation of the delegates. The session witnessed active participation from over 60 industrialists and corporate delegates from the Chandigarh region, all keen to explore opportunities in capital market access for MSMEs.
