Physical hearing of cases will continue at the District Courts, Chandigarh, for now and only fully vaccinated people will be allowed to enter the court complex. Strict measures will be put in place to restrict the footfall in the court complex.
This was decided at a meeting held between representatives of the District Bar Association, Chandigarh, and the District and Sessions Judge. Police officers were also present in the meeting.
Sunil Toni, president of the District Bar Association, Chandigarh, said the meeting was held to discuss the steps to be taken in the District Courts Complex to prevent the spread of Covid-19. It had been decided to continue with physical hearings of cases for now with strict measures.
He said advocates and litigants would be allowed to enter the complex through two entry points only. All other entry points would be closed. Only fully vaccinated people would be allowed in the court complex.
Toni said the official order giving details of the functioning of the court would be issued by the competent authority soon. The Bar Association had assured the District and Sessions Judge that advocates would cooperate in following appropriate measures to prevent further spread of coronavirus cases.
He said the police had also been asked to make necessary security arrangements at the entry points for restrictive access. A large number of people visit the District Courts daily.
