Pick-up hits 10 vehicles in Mani Majra

A Mahindra pick-up sped away after hitting around 10 vehicles, including two-wheelers, parked on a street in Mani Majra this morning. The police said an Activa scooter and an Ertiga car were badly damaged, while other vehicles suffered minor damage.

The police said the rashly driven pick-up hit the vehicles parked on the street during the wee hours and sped away. The vehicle owners came to know about the incident later.

The police were informed, who scrutinised the footage of CCTV cameras installed in the area and found that the pick-up had hit the vehicles. The incident was reported around 4 am.

A police official said only two vehicle owners had approached them with a complaint following which a case had been registered under Section 279 (rash driving) of the IPC against unknown person on a complaint of Sanjeev Gautam, whose Activa scooter was damaged in the incident.

The police said they were trying to establish the registration number of the vehicle through the CCTV footage. — TNS
