Chandigarh: A man riding pillion on a motorcycle died after being hit by another bike at Mani Majra. According to the police, the complainant, Kamaljeet Singh, a resident of Mauli Jagran, alleged that a motorcycle being ridden by Abhishek of Mari Wala Town hit his bike near RIMT School following which Munna Kumar, who was riding pillion on his motorcycle, got injured. Munna was rushed to the Government Multi-Specialty Hospital, Sector 16, where doctors declared him brought dead. TNS

7-year-old boy electrocuted

Dera Bassi: A seven-year-old boy was electrocuted at a house in Pandwala village. Prince, younger son of Gurbachan Singh, was alone at home when he suffered a shock from a cooler. When his mother returned home at 11 am, she saw the child lying on the floor near the cooler. Neighbours took the boy to the Dera Bassi Civil Hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival. TNS

GBP Group faces another case

Chandigarh: The police have registered another case against Gupta Builders and Promoters (GBP) Pvt Ltd for cheating investors. The police said complaints were received from Narinder Kumar and Ravi Kumar, who had invested in plots in a project coming up on the Banur-Landran road. The case was registered against Satish Kumar Gupta, Raman Gupta, Pardeep Gupta and Anupam Gupta at the Sector 34 police station.

Youth arrested with heroin

Chandigarh: The police have arrested a 24-year-old youth, Kishan, alias Andda, a resident of New Indira Colony, Mani Majra, with 6.32 gm of heroin. He was nabbed near the Kishangarh chowk. A case has been registered at the IT Park police station. TNS

Cheating case registered

Chandigarh: The police have booked Naresh Arora of Amritsar and other partners of Design Boxed Creative Pvt Ltd, on a complaint of a woman resident of Sector 36. She alleged that the suspects offered her to join as a project director at their Chandigarh office in Sector 34 and duped her of Rs 1.70 crore taken from her on different occasions for investment in their business by assuring her good returns. A case under Sections 406, 419, 420, 477 and 120-B of the IPC has been registered at the Sector 34 police station. TNS
