Pinjore murder case cracked, three held
The police cracked the Pinjore murder case with the arrest of three accused allegedly involved in the crime. The detective staff team arrested the three mean, who were produced in court today and remanded to police custody.
Sharing details, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP, Crime) Arvind Kamboj informed that on August 22, the police received information about a body buried near the Pinjore-Nalagarh bypass, opposite village Sukhomajri.
A team led by Inspector Mandeep Singh, in-charge Detective Staff, recovered the body, and later, Pinjore station house officer Inspector Bacchu Singh also visited the site with his team. Evidence was collected from the scene by a forensic team and the body was sent for post-mortem at Sector-6 Civil Hospital.
The deceased was identified as Rajiv Gupta, son of Ramu Gupta alias Suresh Kumar, originally from Hardoi,
Uttar Pradesh, and residing in New Indira Colony, Sector-13, Chandigarh.
The victim’s father revealed that Rajiv, employed as a supervisor, had a love marriage in April but was simultaneously involved in another relationship. Due to this, the latter girl’s brother and maternal uncle had threatened to kill him, a matter earlier reported to the Chandigarh Police. On August 9, Rajiv left home on his scooter without informing anyone, after which his phone was switched off, and his last location was traced
to Pinjore. Soon after, a buried body was found in the same area and later identified by his family.
On the father’s complaint, Pinjore police registered a murder case under sections 103(1), 238(1), and 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against the girl’s relatives and others. The investigation is being conducted by Sub-Inspector Rajesh Kumar.
On August 27, the detective staff arrested three wanted accused near Manimajra Sports Complex. They were identified as Kamaldeep alias Kundan, son of Pradeep Kumar, resident of Pipliwala, Manimajra (the girl’s brother), Satyanarayan alias Satta, and Vinod alias Boda, both residents of Panipat and maternal uncles of the girl. Both Satyanarayan and Vinod already face murder charges in Panipat.
According to the DCP Crime, the accused attacked Rajiv with a sharp weapon, strangled him with a chunni and buried his body. They had been frequently changing locations to evade arrest, but were tracked and nabbed.
