Chandigarh: A pistol and 50 cartridges have been stolen from a house in Sector 35. A licensed pistol, cartridges and an LPG cylinder were stolen from the house. The police said a case had been registered in this regard at the Sector 36 police station. TNS
Thieves make off with Jewellery
Chandigarh: A theft was reported from a house in Maloya on the intervening night of May 17 and 18. According to the police, complainant Ashok of Maloya village reported that three mobile phones, Rs16,000 and gold jewellery were stolen from his house. The police have registered a case in this regard. TNS
Covid testing camp held
Chandigarh: As many as 150 samples for Covid testing were taken during a special camp organised in Sector 29-D on Wednesday. A medical team conducted both rapid and regular tests. Councillor Shakti Prakash Devshali said it helped residents to easily get sampled near their houses. The corona guidelines were followed during the camp. Activists went door-to-door to motivate people to give their samples. A similar camp will be organised in Sector 29 B on Thursday. TNS
110 residents, workers jabbed
Chandigarh: A total of 110 residents and sanitation workers were vaccinated at a special camp in Sector 47 on Wednesday. Former Mayor and councillor Davesh Moudgil said it was part of “Tika Utsav”. Moudgil said so far, a total of 2,670 people had been vaccinated in a month and 600 people tested for Covid. All residents are being made aware of the corona guidelines to stem the spread of pandemic. TNS

2 gym owners booked
Zirakpur: The police booked two gym owners, Knockout Gym and Phoenix Gym, and the owner of a hotel situated at Pabhat, White Rose, for flouting the Covid guidelines on Wednesday. The police found two men and two women in compromising position in the hotel. TNS
