DCP Himadri Kaushik today inspected the security arrangements for the state-level village upliftment ceremony being organised at Tau Devi Lal Stadium, Panchkula, on the occasion of National Panchayati Raj Day on Thursday.

The event will be graced by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini as the chief guest. Approximately 8,000 panchayat representatives from across the state — including panches, sarpanches, and especially women representatives — are expected to attend. Around 250 buses have been arranged to facilitate transportation for the participants.

To ensure the event runs smoothly and securely, DCP Kaushik conducted a detailed inspection of security, traffic management, parking zones, and crowd control measures at the stadium. She was accompanied by DCP, Traffic, Mukesh Malhotra, all ACPs, station house officers and other key police officials.

DCP Kaushik strictly directed all officers to ensure there are no lapses at any level, clearly stating that no negligence in security arrangements will be tolerated. She also ordered sufficient deployment of women police personnel to ensure the comfort and safety of female participants.

Traffic DCP Mukesh Malhotra shared a comprehensive traffic plan, outlining alternate routes and designated parking zones to maintain smooth vehicular movement in Panchkula. All buses and private vehicles will be allowed entry only through their assigned gates and slots to avoid congestion.

The inspection was also attended by Gagandeep Singh (HCS), Chief Executive Officer of Zila Parishad Panchkula, and Project Officer Chirag Mehra. They coordinated closely with the police to discuss event logistics in detail.

For security, a significant police presence will be deployed around the stadium, including district police, reserve forces, women police, traffic police, dog squads, bomb disposal teams, and surveillance units.

Through coordinated efforts by the police department and district administration, all departments are fully prepared to ensure the state-level event is peaceful, secure, and well-organized.
