Plantation drive held in Chandigarh wards
Chandigarh, June 25
Plantation programmes were conducted in Ward No. 2, 10 and 30 during which saplings were planted on V4 and V5 roads as well as in the neighbourhood parks.
The respective councillors, Maheshinder Singh Sidhu, Harpreet Kaur Babla and Hardeep Singh, were the chief guests at these activities.
A variety of saplings, including plumeria alba and lagerstroemia indica (on V4 and V5 roads in Sector 7), nyctanthes arbortristis (in the neighbourhood park of Sector 28-B) and cassia fistula (on V5 road in Sector 41), were planted.
The saplings of a total of 60 trees and 110 shrubs were planted during the programme.
