Plaza Zone, Leisure Zone triumph

A sensible knock by tailender Manraj helped Plaza Zone win a thriller against Terrace Zone in an U-16 Multi-Day Cricket Tournament match here today.
Resuming at overnight 8/1, in reply to Terrace Zone’s 271 all out, Plaza Zone were struggling at 231/9 before Manraj scored a dogged 43 to take the total to 279.
Manraj smashed eight fours and one six during his stay at the crease. Karman Paul contributed 48 runs to the chase, while Aksh Rana scored 42 runs.
Girish Khatri of Plaza Zone was named man of the match for his six-wicket effort.
At Government Mode Senior Secondary School, Sector 26, Leisure Zone overcame Rose Zone on the second and final day of their two-day match.
Anurag Chauhan (95) and Balraj Singh (88) scored a half-century each to steer Leisure Zone to 289/4 on Day 2.
Earlier, Rose Zone had declared their innings closed at 287/9.
