Pokhriyal launches national-level test

A national-level entrance-cum-scholarship test, CUCET 2021, announced by Chandigarh University is a novel attempt to search for budding talents in every corner of India and motivate them to pursue their dream careers by offering them a scholarship to overcome the financial barriers. This was stated by Union Minister for Education, Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal, during the launch ceremony.

Academic scholarships worth Rs 33 crore would be give to students in more than 135 undergraduate and postgraduate courses offered by the university. The meritorious students, on the basis of their CUCET-2021 scores, can get scholarships up to 100 per cent academic fee.

Dr Pokhriyal said: “We have often witnessed cases of dropouts in the Indian education system where meritorious students have to opt out of higher education due to financial constraints. CUCET-2021 is an attempt to plug these dropout cases as it offers a helping hand for such talented students from all across India”.

Students can fill out an online application form at www.cucet.cuchd.in for appearing for the online test with the flexibility of choosing date and time slots. The test would be conducted in two phases where the first phase would run from December to May.

Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chancellor, Chandigarh University, said the university was investing heavily on the talent of the Indian Youth and it offered a national platform through CUCET-2021 to students who aspired to be successful by getting quality higher education in the field of their choice.
