Police cordon off massive pothole on Ghaggar bridge to avert mishap
The police today averted a possible accident on the Ghaggar Bridge. After receiving information about a large pothole that had developed in the middle of the bridge, the police implemented immediate safety measures.
Upon receiving the alert, Chandimandir station house officer (SHO) Rampal, Sector-1 Police Post in-charge Ram Mehar, and the Traffic In-Charge rushed to the spot. The team barricaded the damaged section, placed red warning cloth to alert drivers in advance, and notified officials of the National Highways Authority of India, who began repair work on site.
Traffic in-charge Surajpur, Narendra Kumar, advised heavy and loaded vehicles travelling from Pinjore, Kalka, and Panchkula’s Bela Vista Chowk towards Barwala and Ramgarh to take alternative route around Tau Devi Lal Stadium. He added that the diversion aims to maintain smooth traffic flow and prevent congestion.
