Panchkula Police crack down on illegal mining, tractor, JCB seized

The crackdown took place on Tuesday night under the leadership of Inspector Bachhu Singh, Station House Officer, MDC Police Station (Mansa Devi Complex), during routine patrolling in the MDC Sector-2 area near Saketri Road.
During the patrol, officers noticed a suspicious tractor-trolley and JCB machine, both lacking number plates. Upon further investigation, it was confirmed that the vehicles were being used for illegal mining. Police immediately summoned officials from the Mining Department and both vehicles were seized on the spot in a coordinated enforcement operation.
The joint action by the police and Mining Department was undertaken to ensure strict compliance with mining regulations. Routine patrolling and surveillance are being maintained in sensitive areas of the district to prevent environmental violations and curb illegal activity.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Srishti Gupta stated that Panchkula police is operating under a policy of zero tolerance towards illegal mining. She affirmed that such operations will continue regularly. She also appealed to the public to report any information related to illegal activities to the police promptly, so that swift action can be taken.
