The UT Administration has decided to deploy cops on the damaged bridges across Sukhna Choe to prevent accidents.

After the release of water from the Sukhna Lake into the choe recently, the iron nets and barricades installed on the bridges at Kishangarh, Bapu Dham Colony and the Industrial Area, Phase 1, were washed away.

The authorities have decided to deploy police personnel at these bridges round the clock. Traffic will be stopped at these bridges whenever water is released from the Sukhna floodgates.

Becoming fully alert due to rain and rising water level of Sukhna Lake in the last few days, Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav and the SSP jointly visited all the affected places yesterday. The DC directed the officials concerned to tighten security in these sensitive areas.

Meanwhile, sandbags have been placed on both sides of the bridges so that no one falls into the choe at night.
