Panchkula, January 18
The district administration today issued an order declaring the poultry farms located in three villages of the district as avian influenza-affected zones under the Prevention and Control of Animal Infection and Infectious Diseases Act, 2009.
Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Kumar Ahuja stated the poultry farms affected with the avian influenza were in Khedi, Dandlawar and Ganauli villages of the district. The poultry farms falling within a kilometre radius of these poultry farms had also been included in the affected zones, he said.
According to the Deputy Commissioner’s directions, out of 97 poultry farms in the district, poultry farms of 22 villages falling within a radius of one to 10 kilometres have been included in the alert and surveillance zone. The villages include Barwala, Jalauli, Alipur, Naggal, Golpura, Bagwala, Bagwali, Natwal, Kakrali, Raipur, alias Sundarpur, Sultanpur and Plasra.
