Power infra damaged in storm repaired, supply restored in Fatehgarh Sahib

The technical faults were rectified by the officials working round the clock

Heavy showers and gusty winds dealt severe damage to the power infra, leaving several electricity poles and wires in the district damaged. Power supply in some places was affected as a result.

Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) officials, however, were quick to swing into action. The technical faults were rectified by the officials working round the clock, said Amandeep Singh Gill, Additional SE, PSPCL.

He said that due to the storm, many trees had fallen onto the power lines. In total, 180 power poles and 24 transformers had been damaged while several supply lines had been broken.

“The supply of about 1 lakh electricity connections was affected for some time and the connections of Badali Ala Singh Sub-Division were damaged the most. To ensure uninterrupted power supply to the people, PSPCL employees and officials worked round the clock and within 24 hours, the power supply of a large number of domestic and motor consumers in urban and rural areas was restored,” he said, adding that all the poles were re-erected within four days and now the power supply has been restored in the district.
