The police had registered the case against the school administrator and transporter on the recommendations of the Chandigarh Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CCPCR) for not reporting an offence under the POCSO Act.

Initially, the police registered an FIR on May 13, 2025, on the complaint of a five-year-old girl’s father against a school bus conductor for outraging her modesty.

The conductor was arrested for the offence. As per the prosecution, the molestation incident came to the knowledge of the parents on May 7, 2025.

As per the allegations, the girl’s parents had orally informed the transporter and school authorities about the incident. A written complaint was given to the school authorities by the father of the victim on May 13. The school administrator and its transporter were booked later on the recommendations of CCPCR for non-reporting the offence.
