The protesting farmers here entered Chandigarh University at Gharuan today over the suspicion that Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar were visiting the institute to inaugurate the student satellite centre.

As the farmers gathered at the main gate of the university, the authorities allowed them to enter the premises. The protesters gheraoed the helipad inside the campus and also raised slogans against the BJP.

The protesters said they would not allow BJP leaders to enter Punjab unless the three farm laws were repealed.
