Chandigarh, September 20

Over 300 Panjab University faculty members, employees and other staff participated in a “silent march” organised to oppose the recent heckling of a top university official and alleged provocative speeches on the campus.

“Through this march, stakeholders expressed their desire for a peaceful and non-violent campus. This march aims to instil confidence among various stakeholders. Participants in the march, through their silence, urged all the stakeholders to adopt non-violent means, use decent language in public discourse, avoid encouraging vested interests and refrain from spreading hatred,” said the organisers. — TNS
