PU entry: 1,300 allotted parking stickers, around 300 apply online

The Panjab University authorities have allotted nearly 1,300 parking stickers even as around 300 more have applied online as the ban of entry of vehicles without the mandatory sticker got imposed strictly today.

The university authorities had announced that vehicles of day scholars, who failed to register the vehicle for the mandatory parking sticker, would not be allowed entry from today. While the total strength of day scholar students is said to be around 3,000 — the authorities are expecting registration by more students after Diwali.

Meanwhile, the security guards at the university entrance stopped vehicles and checked the documents. Though the complete ban had been announced, some vehicles still managed to enter the campus.
