PU netball team win silver
The women’s netball team of Panjab University won a silver medal in the All-India Inter-University Netball Championship at the Suresh Gayan University in Jaipur.
In the preliminary knockout matches Panjab University defeated Devi Ahilya University, Indore; Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru; Kurukshetra University and Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, to clear the pool. The side then won two quarterfinal match against University of Calicut, Kerala, with a score of 29-27.
In the super league, Panjab University defeated Delhi University 20-15 and Dr Preeti Global University, Madhya Pradesh 22-16. In the final, the local team went down fighting 23-24 against Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut. The Madhya Pradesh University claimed the third position, while Delhi University finished fourth.
