PU paddlers finish 2nd

Panjab University paddlers finished second in the recently concluded North Zone Inter-University Table Tennis Tournament at Chitkara University, Baddi.

The PU team had earlier blanked Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi, 3-0 to qualify for the league.

Paavan defeated Shelly 3-1 before Anjali and Pareen won their respective matches against Shweta and Sakshi without dropping a single game.

In the league stage, PU defeated Kumaun University, Uttarakhand, with Paavan registering a 3-1 win over Neetu and Anjali blanking Khushboo 3-0. Pareen got the better of Pooja.

The side suffered a 0-3 loss to Delhi University. However, they regained their composure to beat Punjabi University, Patiala, 3-2 in the third match to finish second in the tournament. — TNS
