Chandigarh, September 26

The first phase of polling for the registered graduate constituency of the Panjab University Senate was held at 211 polling booths spread over Chandigarh, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Delhi, informed Vikram Nayyar, Registrar and Returning Officer, Senate elections.

Out of the 2,87,997 registered voters, 42,228 cast their votes, Nayyar said, adding that a total of 14.66 per cent votes were polled today. Voting at all the booths went smoothly, he said.
