The Punjab Government has approved the installation of CCTV cameras at Mohali and Punjab Police Mahila Mitra Kendra at a cost of Rs 5 crore in the Budget announced today.

The government has also earmarked Rs 10 crore for the construction of a jail during the current financial year.

AAP MLA Kulwant Singh thanked Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema for accepting demands he had proposed for the development of Mohali.

Among the demands raised by the MLA were setting up the Punjab Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences at Mohali and a Fintech City.

Jal Bhawan will be constructed at Mohali at a cost of Rs 10 crore during the current financial year to strengthen water supply.

The MLA said all these demands were made after consulting people of the area.
