Prof Jagdish Kumar, a faculty member at the Electrical Engineering Department of the college, has been appointed as the Director of the State Institute of Engineering and Technology, Rewari. While working in the research fields of power electronics and control engineering, he has been providing his services as a professor at PEC since 2003.

Principal Sangam Kapoor inaugurated the inter-college cultural fest ‘PARWAZ-e-GCCBA’ at Govt College of Commerce & Business Admn, Chandigarh today. Over 270 participants from various colleges and universities in the Tricity participated in the festival.

A seminar on ‘Inspire Inclusion’ was organised to mark International Women’s Day. Prof Pam Rajput from the Centre for Women’s Studies and Development at Panjab University said this the theme of the campaign this year underscores the role of inclusion in achieving gender equality. Prof Manjit Kaur Brar, Mission Coordinator, Department of Education, UT, said education and awareness play vital roles in fostering inclusion and empowering women.

Desh Bhagat University

Desh Bhagat Radio FM 107.8 Aap Ki Awaaz, State Bank of India Officers Association and Desh Bhagat Global Services organised a walkathon to commemorate International Women’s Day. The walkathon started at Sector 17 and concluded at Sukhna Lake. SBI Chief General Manager Vinod Jaiswal was the chief guest at the event Pro Chancellor of the university Tajinder Kaur said no girl in society should be deprived of education.

Mata Gujri College, Fatehgarh Sahib

Over 800 students from 20 different colleges in Punjab and 18 companies from various fields participated in the placement drive at the college. Over 350 students were shortlisted for the next round of the selection process. Vice-Principal Kashmir Singh said the training and placement cell was committed to providing good employment opportunities to students.
