Punjab leads 2-0 in series against Namibia

The Punjab cricket team is leading the five-match one day series against Namibia 2-0 during the ongoing Namibia tour. The team won both its first matches to take a 2-0 lead. Naman Dhir was adjudged Man of the Match in the first match, while Mayank Markande, who took five wickets, was adjudged Man of the Match in the second match.
After the recently concluded Sher-e-Punjab T20 Cup, the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) had organised the tour for the selected players in order to provide international exposure.
The side won the first match by three wickets, followed by another stunning win in the second match by 87 runs. In the first match, Punjab opted to field and bundled out the hosts at 173 runs in 41.3 overs. Siddharth Kaul and Naman Dhir took three wickets each, while Gurnoor Brar bagged two. Sanvir Singh and Harpreet took one wicket each. In reply, Punjab won by three wickets in 33 overs. Dhir scored 61, while Sanvir added 70.
In the second match, Punjab defeated Namibia by 87 runs. Punjab scored 256 in 48.4 overs. Young batsman Pukhraj Mann posted 73 off 103 balls. In reply, the hosts were restricted to 169 in 43.4 overs. Markande claimed a fifer, while Gurnoor Brar claimed two. Kaul, Ramandeep Singh and Harpreet Brar claimed one each for the bowling side.
