Punjab minister flags off 20th SJOBA rally

Participants to cover at least 250 km each day before returning to start point

Punjab’s Minister for Tourism and Cultural affairs, Investment Promotion, Labour, Industries and Rural Development and Panchayats Tarunpreet Singh Sond flagged off the 20th SJOBA TSD Rally 2024 here at St John’s High School on Friday evening. In all, 46 teams from various parts of India, including Kolkata, Mumbai, Shillong and Uttarakhand, are participating in the three-day motorsport event.

The participants would cover around 250 kilometres each day on September 28 and 29, before returning to the start point — St John’s High School — by 6 pm. The rally route encompasses Hoshiarpur, SBS Nagar, Ropar and Mohali.

The 46 teams include specially-abled, all-women and senior citizen teams. Notably, three teams of specially-abled drivers, 12 all-women driver teams, 22 professional teams and 12 novice teams are competing in the event.

Harpal Singh Malvai, president, SJOBA, and other prominent personalities were present on the occasion.
