The Flying Hands Puppet Theatre group from Turkey presented the story of ‘The Ugly Duckling’ through the medium of string puppets, non verbal with visual effects on second day of the ongoing 8th International Puppet Festival at Tagore Theatre today. Puppeteers Luiz André Cherubini, Sandra Vargas and Maurício Santana presented the story under the direction of Theodora Popova Lazora Grupo Sobrevento.

The poor duckling is constantly teased and made of fun of because everyone thinks he’s very ugly. Fond of adventures he goes out in the world through the seasons – from the arrival of summer to lovely autumn, the harsh winter to finally colourful spring. When all hope of finding a friend seems lost, he finds many and discovers that he’s really beautiful.
