Chandigarh, February 14
The eighth edition of the International Puppet Festival, organised by the Department of Culture Affairs and Tagore Theatre Society, in collaboration with the Ishara Puppet Theatre Trust, opened with the staging of a puppet show, ‘The Boy and The Raven’, by the Royal Puppet Theatre, Finland, at Tagore Theatre here today.
Acclaimed puppeteer Hannu Raisa directed the show. The story drew upon the horrors of surviving war, urging us to pay attention to man’s violent history, to learn from it and to strive to become better human beings.

Earlier, Sorab Arora, Director, Culture, inaugurated the festival in the morning show for schoolchildren while Sachin Rana, IAS officer, honoured the artists in the evening show. Balkar Sidhu, Secretary, CSNA, anchored both programmes.
Play at Navrang Theatre
The Betal Theatre Group, Mumbai, and the Marathi Sahitya Sangha presented Girish Karnad’s classic play ‘Tughlaq’ during the ongoing TFT Winter National Theatre Festival at Navrang Theatre here today. Abhinav Grover directed the play.
