Chandigarh: A Mohali resident reported that an unknown person stole her purse containing six ATM cards, two credit cards, keys, documents and Rs7000 from her car near the Sector 39/40/55/56 Chowk on Friday. A case under Section 379 of the IPC has been registered at the Sector 39 police station. TNS

Mobile phone snatched

Chandigarh: Guddu, a city resident, reported that two scooter-borne unknown persons snatched his mobile phone near Makhan Majra on Friday. A case under Sections 379-A and 34 of the IPC has been registered at the Mauli Jagran police station. TNS

2 travel agents in police net

Mohali: The police have arrested two travel agents for duping people of Rs90 lakh on the pretext of sending them abroad. The suspects have been identified as Harish Kumar, a resident of Panchkula, and Ashish Kumar, a resident of Dhakoli. They were running an immigration firm – The Planet Bulls - in Phase 2. Shivdeep Singh Brar, SHO of the Phase 1 police station, said: “A case under Sections 420, 406 and 34 of the IPC and Section 13 of the Punjab Travel Professional Regulation Act – 2013 has been registered against the duo. The court sent them to two-day police remand.” TNS
