Pursue excellence in AI: Guv to DAV College students at convocation

DAV College, Sector 10, Chandigarh, held its annual convocation ceremony with Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatraya as the chief guest. The Governor inspired graduates to pursue excellence in entrepreneurship, AI, and social transformation while upholding values of integrity and service.

A total of 944 degrees were awarded — 596 undergraduate and 348 postgraduate — across arts, commerce and science faculties, with 480 female and 464 male graduates, reflecting the institution's commitment to inclusive education.

The ceremony honored Olympic medalists and alumni Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh, with the latter receiving his master’s in public administration along with the Best Sportsperson of the Year Trophy, College Award of Honour and a cash prize of Rs 25,000. Shooter Gauri Sheoran, a World University Games gold medallist, was also awarded her master’s in sociology.

Principal Dr Mona Narang encouraged graduates to embrace lifelong learning, while Registrar Dr Ghanshyam Dev reaffirmed the college’s dedication to nurturing future leaders. The event celebrated both academic achievement and DAV College’s legacy, marking the beginning of a new chapter for its graduates.
