PU’s Arshpreet bags gold in swimming

Arshpreet Kaur of the Panjab University campus claimed first position in the 200m individual medley during the opening day of the Panjab University Aquatics Inter-College Tournament.

Vanisha Bashambu of the campus claimed the second position, and Ssamridhi Vijay of Sri Guru Gobind Singh (SGGS) College, Sector 26, finished third.

Navneet of the Sector 26 college won the 100m freestyle event, followed by Varnika Bashambu at second position and Neelanjana of GNC Narangwal at third.

In the men’s 100m freestyle event, Lucky Ali of Sector 26 college won the gold medal by defeating Anshav Jindal.

Vanisha won the women’s 100m breaststroke event, while Priyanshi Dlal of Naranagwal college claimed the second position and Deepshika of Guru Gobind Singh College for Women, Sector 26, finished third.

In the women’s 200m butterfly event, Arshpreet of the university campus clocked better than Ssamridhi and Komal Yadav of SGGS College, whereas Abhay Prakas Sahu of DAV College, Sector 10, claimed the top position in the men’s event, followed by Rajat of SGGS College and Anshav Jindal of university campus.

Aditya of Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma (GGDSD) College, Sector 32, won the 1500m freestyle event, while Rajat and Sourav of SGGS College claimed second and third position, respectively. In the 400m individual medley, Arshpreet of university campus defeated Ssamridhi of SGGS College. Vanshika claimed the third position.

In the 100m breaststroke event, Keshav Kaushik of the Sector 32 college emerged victorious against Parmaraj Singh and Ramrinder of SGGS College. Anshav Jindal of the university campus won the 50m men’s butterfly event, followed by Parmaraj at second position and Lucky at third, whereas Arshpreet Kaur, Navreet and Vanisha claimed the top three position in the women’s event, respectively.
