Pushed, threatened by Estate Office team, claims elderly woman
Refuting charge, officials say illegal structure removed as per orders
A 63-year-old woman has alleged that Estate Officials removed a structure at her house without serving a notice and also misbehaved with her.
In a letter to the Punjab Governor and UT Administrator, Kompal Gujral of Sector 8-C alleged that Estate Office officials, along with a large number of police personnel, barged into her house at 9.45 am on October 23 and demolished a partition structure.
Refuting the allegations, Estate Office officials said illegal structure was removed as per the order issued by the competent authorities.
Gujral stated that the structure was raised by her to safeguard her house when construction work was carried out in a neighbouring house. “They did not show me any notice and when I objected, they pushed me and threatened me with dire consequences,” she alleged.
Police officials said they did not misbehave with anyone and just accompanied Estate Office officials to remove an illegal structure. Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav said he would get the allegations examined.
