Mohali, January 20
Members of the Quami Insaaf Morcha (QIM) today staged a protest and made 13 toll plazas in the state free for commuters from 11 am to 2 pm in protest against the Centre over the non-fulfillment of their demands.
In Mohali, there was a call to make the Azizpur toll plaza on the Banur–Zirakpur road, the Bhago Majra toll plaza on the Kharar–Ludhiana road, the Solkhian toll plaza on the Kharar–Ropar road and the Baroudi toll plaza on the Mullanpur–Kurali road free. The morcha activists and members of some farmers’ unions staged a protest at the Azizpur toll plaza today. Members of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (Rajewal), who had gathered at the Azizpur toll plaza, warned that the morcha would continue the stir until all their demands, such as the release of Bandi Singhs, are met.
