Gian Sagar hospital, Banur, has been made a ‘quarantine centre’ with 300 beds by the District Health Department.

Mohali Civil Surgeon Dr Manjit Singh said quarantine centres were designated to keep the suspected people with travel history to Covid-affected countries in isolation. These suspected passengers are directly being taken to the quarantine centres from the airport.

Civil Surgeon said due to the ongoing renovation in the civil hospital here, only two beds were available at the isoloation ward. “But the department has now made proper arrangements in other government hospitals.”

Civil surgeon added: “We can also use isolation wards of private hospitals in Mohali if all beds of government hospitals get occupied.”

“As many as 328 patients have been kept under observation and all are fine. So far, 15 suspected patients have come and the reports of all these were negative,” said Dr Manjit Singh.
