Rail engine derails near Chandimandir, 3 hurt

An electric engine coming from Kalka derailed near Chandimandir around 6 pm this evening. The loco driver, assistant loco driver and a railway guard were injured and have been admitted to the Civil Hospital, Sector 6, Panchkula, said an official.

“We got an intimation about the accident in the evening around 6 pm and the driver, assistant driver and a rail guard got injured. They are stable and being treated at the Panchkula Civil Hospital,” the official said on condition of anonymity. “Right now, we are only concerned about the well-being of the injured. An inquiry will be marked to see what happened and why the engine derailed,” the official said.
