An hour of downpour left Mohali reeling with waterlogged streets and roads this afternoon. Most of the seasonal rivulets and drains were flowing above their normal levels. Almost all the low-lying areas were left grappling with the rainwater for most of the day. The worst-hit areas were Phase 2, 4, 5, 3B2, and 6, along with Sectors 70 and 71. Two-wheeler riders had a harrowing time negotiating their way through the waterlogged roads.

Traffic moved at snail’s pace in Zirakpur and Dera Bassi as most of the roads were full of rainwater. In Kharar, the rainfall was not as intense as it was in the other parts of the district.
