Chandigarh, July 25
Defending Rainforest Challenge (RFC) India champion Kabir Waraich and Dushyant Khosla from Chandigarh trailed at fourth position with 270 points on the opening day of the 8th RFC India at Panaji.
After the completion of four of the 26 Special Stages (SS), Dr Mohammed Fahed VP (co-driver Rajeev Lal) from Kerala was placed at the first position with 310 points out of 400. Satish Kumar (Chethan Chengappa) from Karnataka gave him a tough fight. He was placed at the second spot with 290 points. The third position was grabbed by N Abinav Reddy (Vishuthi Varun) of Telangana with 275 points. Dr Chaitanya Challa (Pradeep Kumar) from Telangana was at the fifth position on the scoreboard with 234 points.
Fahed was the top performer in SS-2 and SS-3. He got a perfect 100 in both of them. He did well in SS-4 as well where he was placed third with 90 points. However, his overall score took a huge jolt when he toppled his vehicle in SS-1 and was unable to finish that SS. So, he was given 20 points for Did Not Finish (DNF).
