The UT police have arrested third accused in a case related to a fraudulent stock market investment scheme.
The accused, identified as Nandlal, alias Nandu (25), was apprehended from his native village Jeejot in Rajasthan.
Investigators had found that Rs 2.5 lakh, part of the cheated amount, had been credited to his bank account. During interrogation, he confessed to his role in the fraud and revealed the details of other accomplices, who are at large.
The case stems from a complaint lodged by Vijayander Prasad, a Chandigarh resident, claiming that he was duped of Rs 4.78 lakh. He stated that he was lured through a WhatsApp message allegedly sent by a stock investment firm and later added to a group that circulated daily trading tips.
