Chandigarh: Dr Rajiv Siwach has taken over as the Chief General Manager (CGM), National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), of the Punjab regional office and Chandigarh. He has done PhD in agriculture economics from NDRI, Karnal. Previously, Siwach has headed the New Delhi and Haryana regional office. He indicated that priorities of NABARD in the state would be supporting rural infrastructure, strengthening of rural cooperative banks, computerisation and transformation of primary agriculture cooperative societies and organising farmers into Farmers Producers Organisations (FPO), promotion of micro enterprises through skill development of rural youth and credit intensification in rural areas.
