In a ceremonious transition of leadership, Rakesh Kumar Arya handed over charge as the Commissioner of Police to Shibas Kaviraj, a 1999-batch IPS officer at the Police Commissionerate in Mansa Devi.

After serving in the position since November 1, 2024, Arya has been appointed as Law & Order in-charge at the Police Headquarters. During his farewell ceremony, attended by senior officers, Arya was lauded for his firm yet fair leadership. "Strictness is part of the job, but it should never stem from malice," Arya said, thanking his team and pledging continued support.
