Ram Darbar man held with banned injections

The UT police claimed to have arrested a notorious drug peddler and recovered 30 banned injections from him.

The accused, identified as Ajay Kumar (25), alias Sanjay, of Ram Darbar.

A team from the Sector 31 police station arrested him during routine patrolling near Cactus Park in Ram Darbar, Phase 2, around 10:30 pm on October 25.

According to the police, ASI Pawan Kumar and his team noticed a man sitting in the park suddenly trying to flee on spotting cops. He was apprehended and his search led to recovery of 15 injections each of pheniramine maleate and buprenorphine hydrochloride — both controlled substances. The accused failed to produce any licence or permit for possessing them.

The accused, who works as a taxi driver and is educated up to Class 12, has a previous criminal record. He was earlier booked under Sections 147, 148, 149, 452, 323 and 506 of the IPC at the same police station on August 2, 2021.
