Ranjhana Sangram stunned top seed Mahika Khanna of Uttar Pradesh by recording a comeback win to move ahead in the girls’ U-18 pre-quarterfinals, during the ongoing CLTA-AITA National Series Tennis Tournament, at the Sector 10 CLTA Complex.

Ranjhana lost the first set, but recorded a strong comeback by winning the next 7-6(5). In the final set, both opponents faced each other boldly and played some good tennis, but it was Ranjhana had the last laugh in the tie-break 7-6(6) finish.

Meanwhile, Haryana’s Avni Sahraya defeated Aahana Bhalla 6-2 6-0, while Delhi’s Manshi Singh overpowered Avika Yadav 6-1 6-1. Manvi Gupta also recorded a stunning 6-3 6-1 win over Vaishnavi Singh and Shagun Kumari defeated Dhani L 6-3 6-2.

Haryana’s Alexa Singh also moved ahead by defeating Radha Sadhra 6-0 6-4 and Pal Vipulkumar Upadhyay of Gujarat ousted Manmeet Kakka 6-1 6-0. Iha Joshi defeated Devanshi Sanket Gohil 6-1 6-4, Dhatri Dave outplayed Aafreen Rahil 6-0 6-2, and Nainika Naren Bendram defeated Rabiah Dullet 6-4 6-0 in some other one-sided games. Tamanna Walia lost the first set 2-6 against Shweta, but only to bounce back with a 6-1 6-1 verdict, and Shrawasti Kundilya ousted Swasti Singh 6-4 6-3. Sherry Sharma defeated Krittika Katoch 6-1 6-2 and Eshanya Khattar outplayed Vanshika Yadav 7-5 4-6 6-3.
