A seven-wicket haul by Chandigarh’s Vishu in 45 overs was overshadowed by double tons by Lalti Yadav and Abhinav Tejrana, as the batters led Goa to post a mammoth 566 during the Ranji Trophy match at Porvorium.
Vishu claimed 7/173 in 45 overs, but couldn’t stop the two scoring machines. Yadav posted 213 off 393 balls, with 22 boundaries and four sixes, while Tejrana scored 205 off 320 balls, studded with 21 boundaries and four sixes. The duo helped the side raise 566 in 160.4 overs. The pair stitched a 309-run partnership for the fourth wicket, rescuing Goa from early trouble at 115/3.
Vishu picked the wickets of Manthan Khutkar (24), Suyash Prabhudessai (47), Kashyap Bakle (0), Deepraj Gaonkar (4), Darshan Misal (4), Arjun Tendulkar (1) and Tejrana. In reply, Chandigarh posted 34/1 when the the stumps were withdrawn. Shivam Bhambri (2) was trapped in front of the wicket by Tendulkar.
